I could never quite wrap my brain around why I found it so difficult to keep up with small habits when I was away on vacation (like getting in a workout, writing a few words a day, or even simply wishing my face before bed!) Your insight about being out of a routine hit the nail on the head… an aha moment for me! It makes perfect sense and I should stop berating myself for falling out of step with my habits, and instead realize that without structure or my routine to keep me aware and on track, there will be slip ups, but that’s ok. It can be expected.
