I’m a sucker for a guilty pleasure song—as in the ones you can’t HELP but sing along to but will never admit to anyone outside your circle of trust… and maybe not even to them!

But we don’t know each other (yet!) so let’s sit around the girl scout firepit and share!

My top 3 guilty pleasure songs are:

Holding Out for a Hero — by Bonnie Tyler (because that scene in Footloose, when Kevin Bacon’s shoelace is stuck on the tractor pedal and he can’t escape what could be a gruesome ending to his danceless life… it’s classic 80s drama I can’t resist! And If you have no idea what I’m talking about, we may need to rethink why you’re here.)

• Oops… I Did it Again — because Britney, ‘nuff said

We Built This City — by Starship (while Cody plays the mambo - I don’t even care if that’s not the correct lyric, that’s how I sing it!)

And since we’re sharing, I’ve also been known to eat an entire loaf of bread for dinner by dipping it into a pot of simmering marinara on the stovetop, so there’s that.

Now that we got that outta the way, let’s talk experience and why I’m here, and why you’re reading this: I used to be an accountant but then realized… I hate cubicles. I then pulled a 180 and became a graphic designer - but the beige cubicle did me in on that one too.

My third reinvention involved personal training for women who I met with in person - outside of cubicles - to achieve real goals that made their lives better, that made them feel good about themselves, and therefore I was IMMEDIATELY HOOKED!!

In turn, writing became an obvious tangent career because training and connecting with women who were looking for advice on how to create a healthier lifestyle is absolutely something I am here for!

My writing does tend to veer towards humor—for the obvious ego boost—but also because we sometimes tend to take life too seriously, and as my mom always told me, Boop, (my nickname) don’t take life so seriously.

Best advice I ever received.

So here we are, being bold enough to believe that we’re worth more, believing we’re capable of achieving more than we ever imagined, and knowing we’re ready to go for it - even if maybe we’re not. But we’re going to try anyway!

It’s time to stop holding out for a hero (because you get to be your own now), it’s time to stop apologizing, (because it’s ok if you did “it” again), and it’s abso-friggin-lutely time to build a new life—with mambos of course! (Just leave it.)

That’s me in a super small nutshell of a nutshell.

Now tell me about you—but first, begin with your three guilty pleasure songs obvs!

Here’s to living lives that are full of sparkle and shine! (And have way fewer cubicles.)
